MACRO engineer modeling a turnout in 3D

Engineering and design

We design under the BIM concept in 3D modeling formats: every part is modeled, simulated and registered before it is cast, and delivered ready to integrate into the customer's infrastructure.

Design, manufacturing, construction and maintenance

All four disciplines live in one BIM model: what is designed in the office is what gets cast, what gets built on the track and what gets maintained afterward. One model, no translation between suppliers.

MACRO BIM cycle: 01 Design, 02 Manufacturing, 03 Construction, 04 Maintenance. One single model.

  1. 01Design

3D modeling, pouring CFD simulation and our own registered drawing. Delivered in BIM, ready for the project model.

  2. 02Manufacturing

Manganese steel casting, machining, assembly and inspection against drawing at our Nuevo León plant.

  3. 03Construction

Track installation with our own fleet: tamping, leveling and final inspection against the same drawing.

  4. 04Maintenance

Inspection of the turnout in service and replacement parts made from the original drawing, no re-engineering.

RAMS methodology

The R.A.M.S. approach: Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety makes it possible to evaluate the overall performance of railway systems throughout their life cycle. At MACRO, these principles are built in from engineering and manufacturing through to the installation, operation and maintenance of turnouts.
